Affenpinscher

Affenpinschers are German Origin. Affenpinschers are different from terriers. They are playful but at the same time they are active, adventurous, curious, and stubborn. In France the breed is described as the "Diablotin Moustachu" or moustached little devil. They are actually part of the pinscher-schnauzer. They weigh around 3 to 4 kgs. They grow upto 30 cm. It is wiry-haired terrier. Its coat is shaggier over the head and shoulders forming a mane, with shorter coat over the back and hind quarters. Affenpinschers need to be groomed two to three times a week.

Affenpinscher are prone to Collapsed trachea and Hip dysplasia.

Hip dysplasia a disease that can eventually cause crippling lameness and painful arthritis of the joints. It is caused by genetic factor.

Collapsed trachea can be avoided by walking the dog with a harness .

Afghan Hound

Afghan Hound are Afghanistan Origin. There Original name, Tazi. Afghan Hound is in fact one of the most ancient dog breeds, dating back for many thousands of years.

The Afghan Hound was originally used for hunting large prey in both the deserts and in the mountains of Afghanistan.

The Afghan Hound grow upto 29 inches in height and weighs around 60 pounds.
Coat: long and silky.
Life span is 10 to 12 years.
Afghan Hound are slow in obedience and less intelligent.

Africanis

It has a muscular body with a weather resistant thick coat and has a heavy plumed tail.

It is very energetic and protective watch dog.

Airedale terrier

Airedale terrier is originated from Airedale, Yorkshire, England. Airedale terrier is called King of Terriers. It has a dense wiry coat with a black and tan color. It is used as a work dog. So it needs a Daily long walk. The hair needs intensive grooming.

The Airedale's tail is usually shorted by surgery.

The Airedale is used as a working dog and also as a hunter.

Airedales is difficult to train. But it is very smart dog. It understand very quickly. So it does not need training.

It grows upto 24 inches and weighs aroung 65 pounds. Life span of 12 years.

Akita Inu

Akita Inu is originated from Japan. It Grows up to 70 cm talls and the male weighs aroung 54 kg and female weigh upto 50kg. It is has a bouble coat which is waterproof is well adopted to Japanese winter. It needs daily grooming.

Akita's were used for hunting, guard dog and well trained dog could be used as a baby sitter.
Akita's are Prone to hip dysplasia, Hypothyroidism, Gastric dilatation volvulus, Progressive retinal atrophy, Uveo Dermatological Syndrome, Pemphigus and skin problems.

Alangu Mastiff (Bully Kutta)

Alangu Mastiff is originated from Souther india, from the districts of Thanjavur and Trichy it is also called Bully Kutta. They are excellent guard dogs most they are used as fighting dogs in Pakistan. The grow upto a height of 36 inches and weighs around 150 Pounds. There legs are well Mussuled.

Alangu Mastiff are very aggressive and protective.
